Hello there, I'm Sandhya! I’m a Designer and Visual Strategist based out of Columbus, Ohio.
I’m an alumna of the Visual Communication Design Program at The Ohio State University, and I'm well-versed in the topics of graphic design, design research, user-centered design, interaction design, user experience design, motion graphics, branding and identity design, data visualization, and photography. Presently, I work as a Design and Visual Strategist for The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business, and previously, I held the role of Graphic Designer at the College of Nursing, also at The Ohio State University.
Before entering the field of design, I got my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology (Pre-Medicine) and worked as a Translational Research Assistant at the Center for Injury Research Policy of The Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital. In this position, I helped to "translate" injury research into educational materials such as fact sheets and informational videos, as well as promotional materials including press releases and social media posts.
It was while working to translate scientific information and communicating research that I was able to gain insight into the power that visual communication has on public health. I realized that with the proper tools and a strong foundation in visual communication design, I can help disseminate relevant information and have a considerable impact on society. That's how I became passionate about visual communication and health education. If you want to learn more about what I do and how we can collaborate, feel free to contact me via email through firstname.lastname@example.org or follow me on social media.
